Hi there oppo, I've been a lurker for a good year and a half and I finally decided to beg for authorship.
My name is Chris, I'm 20 years old and I'm a student at UVM in Burlington, Vermont. I'm currently studying Public Communications and hope to find my way into the marketing division of any automotive manufacturer that will have me (specifically Mercedes-Benz, Audi or BMW). In spring of 2015 I'll be studying abroad in Germany, where I'll try to visit every car factory I possibly can.
Since Vermont isn't known for its... light... winters, I've always been drawn to Subarus and Audis, rather than BMW, Porsche, Jaguar and other rear drive cars. That all changed this past summer when a BMW 328d found its way into my parents garage. I was genuinely speechless after taking a spirited drive up one of the better twisties near Burlington. The grip was unbelievable and needless to say, I think I'm moving out of the AWD camp.
Lastly (and if you're still with me, this is the interesting part) I spent the past summer at a shop called Restoration and Performance Motorcars (a piece was posted about it a while back I believe). It was the most incredible experience of my life. I'm not the best under the hood of a car, so my main job was website management, detailing and photography for the countless cars there. From a 1970 Porsche 911S to a 1997 Ferrari 550 Maranello, one would never expect to see some of the worlds most incredible Italian, English, and German exotica in a sleepy town in Vermont. The funny thing is, the article I'll link to in the bottom was the actual reason I wanted to post here. A picture of a 1986 911 Targa I actually took was used by someone, and I think that's pretty awesome.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Oh and one last thing, contrary to my entire AWD over RWD thing before, I traded my WRX for a GTI this past summer.... I think I moved the drive wheels the wrong way. Don't worry, I think I'm weird too.

Welcome! I'm the dude that shamelessly stole your photo for my own purposes without giving you any credit (sorry 'bout that). I spent at least 5 minutes searching Google for a car identical to the one I saw.

Welcome to Oppositelock! You'll fit right in. Also, Vermont is a lovely state, and I wish I could visit it again.

Thanks! It really is, especially with the leaves turning right now. Makes for a really incredible drive if you avoid the touristy places

I remember my dad whipping through the road between Stowe and Smuggler's Notch. That one was fun in a minivan.
